W kolejnym programie (Redakcji Angielskiej Programu dla Zagranicy) z serii poświęconej Fryderykowi Chopinowi Danuta Isler odwiedzi kilka miejsc w Polsce, które związane są z kompozytorem – m.in. Żelazową Wolę, Brochów i pałac Ostrogskich.
You're tuned to the External Service of Polish Radio broadcasting from Warsaw. I am DI welcoming you to this week's edition of our special series devoted to Chopin. Today we will visit places connected with the great composer around Poland. The first step is the composer's childhood house in Zelazowa Wola some fifty kilometers west of Warsaw. 11 kilometers north of Żelazowa Wola you come across Brochów where Fryderyk Chopin was christened.
The next step is Warsaw where you can see Chopin monument in the Royal Łazienki Park and Chopin’s heart sealed in one of the pillars of the Holy Cross Church. There is also the Frederic Chopin Museum at the Ostrogski Palace in Warsaw which houses the biggest collection of Chopin memorabilia in the world. It is worth visiting not only during the month of March which marks the anniversary of the composer's birthday.
Other places connected with the composer around the country include the southern city of Kraków with its Old Town and surroundings as well as places visited by Chopin during his holidays, for example the Radziwill Hunting Palace in Antonin which Chopin visited and now is the venue of the International Festival “Chopin in the Colours of Autumn” as well as Duszniki Zdrój: a resort town where Chopin once gave a concert at the age of 16.
