Police arrested a gang of con-artists that swindled almost 1,700 people by ‘selling’ cars through a website – OtoMoto.
The group used the website to ‘sell’ cars that they did not actually have. They earned 3.3 million zloty (716,000 euro) in this manner.
The prosecutor filed arrest warrants against 25 people involved in the gang – each of whom face up to 12 years in prison.
The gang had operated successfully since 2006 and successfully swindled people from all over Poland. (mmj)
