Poland’s Wojciech Szepel has received a nomination for this year’s prestigious BAFTA Awards in the UK.
He is shortlisted in the photography/lighting category for camerawork to the British film ‘White Girl’, directed by Hettie MacDonald. A BBC production, the film probes into the problem of the clash of cultures, focusing on an English family moving into a new house in what turns out to be a Moslem community of Bradford.
Thirty nine year-old Szepel has worked extensively in Britain and Germany, cooperating with the BBC and Cologne Media/WDR. Last year, he worked on the two-part movie Tess of the D’Ubervilles directed by David Blair.
BAFTA Awards will be announced on 17 May. (mk)
