An eight year old girl, the most severe case of swine flu in Poland, is in a critical state.
“The girl cannot breathe by herself and her state is deteriorating,” said Malgorzata Tenczynska, spokesperson for the hospital on Nieklanska in Warsaw.
The girl, who has recently come back from the US, probably contracted two strains of swine flu and suffers from bacterial infection and pneumonia.
The patient, an American of Polish origin, came to Poland on 26 June from Atlanta. She travelled with her grandmother and brother.
So far twenty-five cases of swine flu have been reported in Poland. (mg/pg)
