Polish and US National Parks cooperate

A delegation of the Rocky Mountain National Park in the United States have started a study visit to the Tatra National Park.
The visit is part of a cooperation agreement between these two parks and the National Park in the Slovak Tatras.
The aim of the month-long stay is the sharing of experience and expertise in a wide range of issues, including the impact of tourism and skiing on nature and the role of volunteers in park maintenance.
The three-strong American group have joined their Polish colleagues in several day-long expeditions into the High Tatras.
The newly-appointed US Consul in Kraków, Allen S. Greenberg, accompanied them on top Kasprowy Wierch. He was delighted with his first tourist experience in Poland. He told the Polish Press Agency that he was very happy with the successful development of cooperation between the Rocky Mountain and Tatra National Parks. (mk)
