Thousands of unregistered lodgers in parliamentary hotel
28.10.2009
Up to 7,000 unregistered guests may have slept at the parliamentarians’ hotel in Warsaw in the last 12 months.
The hotel serves MPs who live outside Warsaw, but due to their hospitality the hotel is bursting at the seams. One record breaker is rumoured to have put about 700 persons up for the night.
Parliamentary speaker Bronislaw Komorowski is determined to put an end to this extensive hospitality by MPs. The scope of the problem has been examined by a special parliamentary commission. Komorowski wants to make sure that only MP’s close family – spouses and children – as well as persons who assist incapacitated MPs – are allowed to sleep in the hotel rooms. (kk)
