One in four undecided on presidential race
13.11.2009
If the presidential election was held this November, Donald Tusk would receive 24 percent of the votes, says the latest GfK Polonia opinion poll, but one in four are yet to make up their minds.
Compared to a similar survey two weeks ago, the current prime minister has gained 3 percentage points. President Lech Kaczyński would receive 16 percent, up four from two weeks ago.
Left wing candidate, former foreign minister Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz lost three percent support and is now on 13 percent.
Twenty five percent of the electorate has yet to make up their minds, according to the opinion poll, however. Presidential elections are scheduled in Poland next year.
Meanwhile, in another poll by CBOS, 38 percent of respondents said they would vote for the ruling Civic Platform if elections were geld this week, while the major opposition party, Law and Justice would receive 18 percent. (pg)
