The University in Lodz, central Poland, has launched a fund-raising campaign to help children suffering from cancer.

Its organizers encourage students to buy special charity postcards as gifts for their professors.

Tradition has it that bouquets of flowers are presented to professors and members of the examination board after graduation exams. Now, most of them receive sets of postcards, each of which adds almost 3 euros to the charity.

The University faculty and the students have welcomed the idea. It is estimated that some 15 thousand euros may be collected in this way for children’s ontological clinics. (mk)
