Second swine flu fatality in Poland

A 48-year-old man has become the second person to die of the swine flu virus in Poland.

 

The man was first diagnosed with pneumonia and hospitalized in the southern city of Krakow. When his condition deteriorated he was sent to intensive care in the hospital in Lodz, were it was discovered that he had contracted swine flu.

 

The man died Monday morning. 

 

This is the second swine flu-related death in Poland. On Friday, a 37-year-old man from the northern city of Gdansk died from complications brought on by the AH1N1 virus.

 

Over 260 swine flu cases have been reported in Poland. (mg)
