President Lech Kaczynski has cancelled any official meetings or visits in the coming days – including a Baltic Summit in Vilnius on Wednesday – due to illness.

Pawel Wypych, spokesperson for the Presidential Cabinet announced that President Kaczynski has been a bit sick since 11 November when he was briefly in hospital, and is, again, taking antibiotics.

“He returned to regular duties too early and his illness has returned. Now, the undisciplined President will have to play catch up,” said Wypych on the TVN24 television channel.

President Kaczynski, who cancelled a Wednesday visit to Vilnius, Lithuania to take part in a summit of heads of Baltic states, will spend the week at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

“It is not serious, but the doctor’s decision in final and obligatory,” assured Wypych. (mmj)
