Airports in met office payments storm

16.12.2009

Poland’s Meteorological Institute has warned it will stop delivering weather forecasts to airports in Krakow, Poznan and Gdansk.

The Institute’s representative said that these airports have not fulfilled their financial obligations. He added that a lack of weather forecasts may affect the work of the airports.

Marcin Pullit, director of the Krakow airport, pointed out that the communiqué of the Institute is incorrect and the airport will continue receiving weather forecasts.

He added that the case will in most probability “end up in court” since the “scandalous” statement by the met office “undermines the airports’ credibility”. (ab/pg)
