Three teenagers have been accused of committing two brutal murders – one to celebrate an 18th birthday and the other to see how a man dies.
The District Court in the central city of Lodz has accused 19-year old Krzysztof L., 19-year old Bartosz C. and 17-year-old Mariusz K. of killing their 16-year-old colleague. The two older delinquents are also accused of killing their 32-year-old neighbour.
The first crime was committed at the end of October 2008. Police found a body of a 32-year-old man with a cut throat in his own flat. The man was murdered by Krzysztof L. and Bartosz C., who thought it a fitting way to celebrate one’s 18th birthday.
The second murder was committed in December 2008 in one of the criminals’ flat. Krzysztof L., Bartosz C. and Mariusz K. killed their 16-year-old colleague to see how one dies. First, they strangled the boy with a spring, and then battered him with a wooden baton all over his body. The interrogation revealed that they wanted to see if the baton will leave traces on their victim’s body. The delinquents covered the dead body with a blanket and drowned it in a pond.
Mariusz K. and Krzysztof L. admitted guilt, while Bartosz C. has denied the accusations. The two 19-year olds face life sentences and the 17-year old, 25 years in prison. (mg/mmj)
