High prices are keeping Warsaw residents away from special club nights on New Year’s Eve.
Because of the low interest, some venues have already cancelled events. Others have started to give invitations away.
According to Warsaw city daily Życie Warszawy, part of the cause of the lack of interest in special nights at clubs are the free giant open-air concerts organized by municipal authorities.
However, when the city asked Varsovians whether it should mount such an expensive event in times of crisis, 34 percent said it should be more modest and 28 percent said it should be called off altogether.
In spite of this, the city decided to go through with the concert. (ek)
