Investigators to re-open abduction case files

11.01.2010

The Central Investigation Bureau has created a special unit to investigate unresolved abductions for ransom.

Poland’s top investigative officers will reopen over twenty abduction cases for ransom committed in Warsaw and its surroundings over the past years.

They will take a closer look at a kidnapping of Ewelina B., daughter of a meat producer and Mariusz M., son of a businessman from Piaseczno, whose body was found in March 2004.

The investigators suppose that all abductions were performed by an infamous “finger cutters” gang. Recently, the officers have found new evidence which may help to solve the cold cases. (mg)
