The health Jadwiga Kaczynska, mother of President Lech Kaczynski, is improving, say doctors, after she was disconnected from a breathing apparatus at the intensive care unit in a hospital in the Polish capital.

The president’s mother will spend the rest of the week in intensive care at the Military hospital in Warsaw, however.

“Yesterday Jadwiga Kaczynska was disconnected from the respirator. Her condition is improving slowly and systematically,” said her physician Wojciech Lubiński,

Jadwiga Kaczynska was taken to the hospital nearly three weeks ago with heart and repertory problems. Her conditioned worsened to the extent that she was put into intensive care and the president, and his twin brother, Jaroslaw, cut back on engagements. (pg)
