Charlie Watts, the Rolling Stone’s drummer, is to be the top attraction at this year’s Era Jazz Festival in Warsaw. He is to appear in the city’s Congress Hall on 30 September.

The event’s director Dionizy Piątkowski told the Polish Press Agency that Watts’s present project focuses on the boogie-woogie.

“The name of the quartet which plays with him right now – The ABC&D of Boogie Woogie – points to his current interests. Jazz and swing have long been his passions and he is an enthusiast of the boogie-woogie”, Piątkowski said.

Watts’s Warsaw gig will be a part of his European tour. (mk)
