The world famous Slask folk song and dance company is representing Polish culture at the Silesian Days during the EXPO 2010.

A special repertoire of classical elements based on the music of Chopin has been combined with pieces of contemporary artists, for example, those of Wojciech Kilar. Chinese audiences will also be able to admire the Slask ensemble in its traditional folk offer.

Additionally, ballet instructors from Slask shall conduct workshops for those willing to learn some of the steps of Polish folk and national dances, such as the kujawiak, mazur or polonaise.

This is the third visit in China of the Slask song and dance company. They will be returning to Poland from Shanghai on 25 May. (ss)
