Before being brutally murdered, Krzysztof Olewnik was tortured after he was kidnapped in 2001 with bones broken, skin burnt and teeth were rotting, a second autopsy report suggests.
The most dramatic moments in 27 year-old Krzysztof Olewnik’s life happened after he tried to escape about half a year before his death. Slawomir Kosciuk, one of Olewnik’s murderers testified that Wojciech Franiewski and Ireneusz Piotrowski brutally beat Olewnik to punish him for escape attempt and installed a camera in the room where he was kept imprisoned. Because of a broken wrist bone Olewnik could not move his arm and suffered constant and great pain for months until he was murdered.
The information comes after family members in March insisted that Olewnik’s body be exhumed to ascertain that the body was in fact that of the son of the wealthy businessman, whose gruesome murder shocked Poland.
To prevent further escape attempts the criminals put a collar on Olewnik’s neck and chained him to the wall. He was also handcuffed. Krzysztof tried to disentangle himself so desperately that he ripped his clothes.
In the last weeks of Olewnik’s life his skin was burnt and his teeth and gums rotten. Because of immense pain Olewnik probably kept on losing conscious, the report reads.
Krzysztof Olewnik, the son of a businessman was abducted in October 2001. The kidnappers demanded ransom. In July 2003 they were given 300,000 euro but Krzysztof Olewnik was not freed. The investigation concluded that he was tortured and brutally murdered a month after the kidnappers received the money. Three men convicted for the murder later committed suicide in prison. Parliamentary commission to investigate the abduction and murder of Krzysztof Olewnik was formed to solve the mysterious crime. The investigation is continuing. (mg)
