Jaroslaw Kaczynski and Bronislaw Komorowski are to take part in two televised debates in the run-up to the second round of presidential elections on July 4.

The two remaining presidential hopefuls will touch upon three major topics in the first of the hour-long debates, billed for Sunday: social policy, the economy and foreign policy.

The election rivals will also have a chance to ask each other questions after the three main issues have been discussed. “We would like the candidates to ask each other one question after each of the topics,” Civic Platform politician Slawomir Nitras told the TVN24 news channel, Thursday.

“We are for such an arrangement,” Adam Bielan from Law and Justice replied, talking to RMF radio Friday morning. Bielan also disclosed additional details as to the debate, Sunday.

The candidates will sit during the debate, and will have 30 seconds to ask their questions. It has been mutually agreed between the two parties that 2 minutes will be allowed for answers.

Two debates have been billed before the second round of elections on July 4. The first is to be aired live on Sunday at 20.00 CET, with the second lined up for Wednesday at the same time. (jb)
