Officers from the Central Investigation Bureau have raided a marijuana plantation near Lodz, central Poland.
Over 400 plants were seized and over 18 kilograms of marijuana was confiscated in the raid, which also saw the arrest of one man.
The plantation was found in a suburb of Lodz, with police clamping down on what they have called a professional operation.
Joanna Kacka from the Lodz police department told the press that the inside of the “building was well-lit, with special air ducts and water systems installed,” adding that the “plants were also fertilised.”
Some of the 395 plants taken into custody were 1.5 metres tall, with the entire marijuana seizure worth some 500,000 zloty (120,000 euro).
The 55-year old in charge of the plantation may see a prison sentence of 8 years if found guilty of growing the narcotics. (jb)
