Marta Kaczyńska, daughter of the Polish presidential couple who died in the air crash near Smolensk in Russia, has donated tulip brooches for participants in a charity auction this Sunday raising funds for flood victims in Poland.

The tulip brooch represents the Dutch flower named after First Lady Maria Kaczyńska. The funds from the auction, held for the benefit of the Caritas organization, are to go towards relief for two villages in the area of Przemyśl, ravaged by this year’s flooding.

One of the brooches is to be donated to Sunday’s collection effort of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. (ek)
