A memorial to the victims of the Kielce Pogrom in 1946 is to be unveiled today in the town’s Jewish cemetery, exactly 64 years after the murder of 42 Jews in Poland’s southern town.
The anniversary is marked by a memorial walk through the town, as well as the uncovering of the new monument, which was designed by Marek Cedula.
The memorial contains a plaque listing the names of the pogrom’s victims, as well a 450 kilogram grainte slab which was donated by Kielce Jews living in Israel and transported from there. (jb)
