Heatwave sweeps across Poland

12.07.2010

Poland is basking in sunshine, with temperatures over the coming days expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius in the shade.

The hottest area of Poland is expected to be the north-western West-Pomeranian region, with meteorologists forecasting temperatures between 35-37 degrees Celsius and issuing the highest warning level for people out in the sun.

Heatwaves are also billed for the central Masovian province, which will see temperatures soar to a maximum of 34 degrees. Most regions of Poland will see the mercury rise to over 30 degrees over the coming days.

Experts are warning against the risks of over-exposure to the sun, including sun burn, heat stroke, and dehydration. (jb)
