Papa Roach rocks Woodstock

31.07.2010

Papa Roach, Nigel Kennedy, Justyna Steczkowska and Lao Che rocked the stage at the 16th Woodstock festival in western Poland, Friday.

Organisers estimate 300,000 music fans have already been on site at the festival, though that number is expected to rise to half a million by the time the festival ends on Sunday.

The main stage this year is an impressive 17m high, 60m wide and 15m deep with a PA blasting out 100,000 watts from each side of the arena.

On Saturday the bill includes Jazz interpretations of Chopin by Leszek Mozdzer & Tymon Polish Brass Ensemble and Girl in a Coma.

Sticking out in the crowd was Jerzy Buzek, president of the European Union who visited the festival on Saturday who said that the atmosphere at Woodstock - friendly - was different from some media reports of the event. (pg)
