Breeders and enthusiasts from around the world are descending on Janow Podlaski in eastern Poland for the annual Arabian Horse Days, the largest event of its kind in the world.

The three day event culminates in an award ceremony for the best horses in show and auction.

The show has been held since 1970 and top Arabian horses can reach sales figures of over one million euros. This year VIP owners will include Charlie Watts, drummer with the Rolling Stones and wife Shirley.

The Janów Podlaski Stud farm, established in 1817 is the oldest state owned and operated horse stud in Poland. (pg)
