A dramatic change in the weather, Friday, saw a tornado touch down in Wola Rebowska, not far from the central Polish town of Garwolin, completely destroying one house and severely damaging others.
No-one died due to the freak weather system, although the tornado ripped the roofs off over a dozen buildings, including residential homes. 10 fire officers are working at the scene of the natural disaster.
The tornado tore down overhead power lines on the Warsaw-Lublin train line. It is not clear when rail services between the cities are to resume.
The Lodz and Lublin regions were also hit by tornadoes, Friday, touching down near the towns of Ryki and Rawa Mazowiecka, both in rural areas. A number of houses were damaged. (jb)
