A 19 year old tourist died in the Tatra mountains, Sunday, when he was out hiking.

The young man, from the Podlaskie province fell while climbing on the Orla Perc trail, when of the most treacherous on the region in southern Poland.

Tomasz Wojciechowski from the local mountain rescue unit said rescuers tried to resuscitate the man at the scene but to no avail.

Wojciechowski told the PAP news agency that conditions are currently difficult for hiking and climbing in the area with trails slippery after rain.

Orla Perc has claimed the lives of over 100 lives since the trail was created over 100 years ago. (pg)
