The Tatra Mountain Rescuers (TOPR) have found the body of a man near Rysy, the highest peak in Poland.
“The body has been transported to the winter resort of Zakopane but has not been identified yet as the tourist did not carry any documents,” says Andrzej Maciata from TOPR.
Rescuers believe that the man slipped while descending Rysy and fell several dozen metres to his death.
Today, climbing conditions are quite good, Tatra Rescuers say, but winter is already getting its grip on mountain peaks, where snow is lingering. (mg)
