Poll - Law and Justice make progress

22.09.2010
Opposition party Law and Justice are slowly eating into the ruling Civic Platform’s lead in the opinion polls, finds a new survey.

According to the poll by PBS DGA Jarosalaw Kaczynski’s party is now on 27 percent support to Prime Minister Donald Tusk's Civic Platform on 43 percent.

At the end of August Law and Justice were on 24 percent.

Support for the Democratic Left Alliance is on eight percent, down two from a survey taken by the same pollster two weeks ago.

Junior coalition partner, the Polish Peasant’s party are on four percent.

Though Law and Justice have made up some ground on Civic Platform, if vote share was replicated in the 21 November local elections, Donald Tusk’s party would see wide spread gains throughout the country.

The poll by PBS DGA was commissioned by the Gazeta Wyborcza daily on 17 - 19 September from a sample of 1037. (pg)
