Associates of Dawid Bratko, dubbed in the media as Poland’s “Designer drug king”, are to lobby in favour of designer drugs in the Polish parliament.
Tomasz Obara from the “Free Hemp” Initiative, who has formally already registered at the Polish parliament as a lobbyist, wants to “protect the rights and freedoms of people addicted to psychotropic substances”, and represents his mother.
“Police officers keep raiding my mother’s house looking for cannabis. That’s why I protect my mother’s interest,” says Obara. The man admits, however, that in fact he acts on behalf of Dawid Bratko, Poland’s “Designer Drug King”.
“I’m against designer drugs but I signed an agreement with [Bratko] that if we manage to persuade the authorities to legalise cannabis, he’ll stop trading designer drugs,” adds Obara.
Another designer drug lobbyist Jedrzej Sadowski openly admits being Bratko’s representative. Sadowski is also involved in the “Free Hemp” Initiative. Last week, Parliamentary Speaker Grzegorz Schetyna agreed for the organisation to collect signatures of the supporters of the bill allowing soft drugs. (mg/jb)
