Polish politicians are quarrelsome, resembling tradeswomen and kindergarteners, shows a new opinon poll released by TNS OBOP.
Many Poles think that the most quarrelsome Polish politicians are maverick Janusz Palikot formerly of the ruling Civic Platform (40 percent of votes) and the Law and Justice leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski (38 percent).
Deputy Parliamentary Speaker Stefan Niesiolowski and the Self-Defence party leader Andrzej Lepper have also been dubbed as quarrelsome.
Respondents were also asked to find the best description for the politicians they found quarrelsome. According to the survey a popular Polish saying “to argue like tradeswomen” may soon change. As many as 34 percent of Poles would say “to argue like politicians”, instead.
Some were more specific, proposing the expression “to argue like Jaroslaw Kaczynski with Donald Tusk”. Other ideas included: “to argue like a dog and a cat”, “like a married couple”, “like madmen” or “like kindergarteners”.
The survey was conducted on 2-5 September among 1005 Poles. (mg/jb)
