Two-in-three Poles skip lunch at work

27.10.2010
Sixty eight percent of Poles claim they have no time to eat lunch at work, finds a new opinion poll.

Just under 40 percent grab sandwiches on the go, while every tenth Pole eats nothing at all during work hours.

The survey by the Homo Homini Institute shows that despite the fact that over 90 percent of the respondents were aware that regular meals are very important for health, almost 70 percent never leave work for lunch.

According to nutritionists the results of the poll point to the fact that Poles continue to follow bad eating habits but also fear demanding a lunch break from employers. The opinion still prevails among Poles.

The poll shows that Poles substitute food at work with drinking coffee (26 percent)  water (22 percent) or smoking cigarettes (12 percent). (ab)
