Demonstrations in favour of in-vitro fertilisation have been billed to take place in eight Polish cities today, Thursday, and have been organised by rogue MP Janusz Palikot’s new political movement.
The demonstrations are to take place in front of churches and bishops’ residences at 15.30 CET in Warsaw, Krakow, Torun, Czestochowa, Kielce, Poznan, Szczecin and Wroclaw.
Janusz Palikot himself has said that he will be attending the demo in Warsaw, stating that if 500 people come to the rally he will regard the move as a success.
The current problem in Poland, according to Janusz Palikot, is that “the Church has stolen the State,” and that “bishops should not teach women on how to have children.”
The ex-Civic Platform MP also criticised priests who have read out lists of names of parliamentarians who support in-vitro fertilisation during church sermons. (jb)
