photo - Gazeta Lubuska Two people died Tuesday morning when a microlight aircraft crashed near the village of Gubinek, Lubusz province, around four kilometres from the German border.The identity of the pilot and passenger of the plane are currently not known, though police are working under the assumption that they were German.
The plane, which broke up into many pieces on impact, crashed into swampy meadow overgrown with trees. The remains of the aircraft are scattered over a large area on both sides of the national road 32.
Due to the extent of the wreckage it is not known what model of aircraft it was.
Fire, ambulance and police from both Poland and Germany are at the site of the crash.
