Good news for hacks: Poles trust journalists more than priests or politicians, finds a new survey.Seventy five percent of respondents told the SMG / KRC pollsters they have trust in journalists, more so than the clergy, politicians and business people though they are less trusted than teachers, doctors and lawyers.
The Wikileaks editor would be pleased to know that more than half of Poles (51 percent) believe that journalists should always give the whole truth about a story, regardless of the consequences to themselves and others.
Seventy eight percent believe that journalists earn above the average wage. Thirty two percent believe that journalism is a vocation, providing a social service.
The poll was conducted on a nationwide sample of 1,002 respondents between 15 and 75 years of age.
