The Polish Tatra Rescuers (TOPR) service have found a body in Swinica massif in the Tatra Mountains.
The body may belong to 21-year-old resident of the western city of Wroclaw who disappeared on 28 December. “A helicopter has transported the body to Zakopane, where it will be identified by police,” says Jan Krzysztof from TOPR.
The tourist hiked the Tatra Mountains alone. He was supposed to come back home on 30 December. On 28 December he was last seen near Swinica.
Avalanche danger remains high in the Tatra mountains and high ground trails are completely covered with snow. (mg)
