President Bronislaw Komorowski is meeting with members of the State Electoral Commission over possible dates for the general election.
While the last possible date for the general elections is set at 30 October, the ruling Civic Platform has proposed the 23 October as an ideal date.
During Thursday’s meeting, Komorowski will meet members of the Electoral Committee, as well as engage in discussions with representatives of political parties and NGOs which are engaged with increasing social awareness during elections.
Earlier, Secretary of State at the Presidential Chancellery, Slawomir Nowak announced that Bronislaw Komorowski will chose the best date for government elections with regards to the Poland’s presidency of the European Union, amongst other factors.
Nowak added that Civic Platform’s proposed date of 23 October still remains a possibility, however. (jb)
