According to a newly released survey from TNS OBOP, if elections were to be held in May, 19 percent of Poles would not know who to vote for.The poll reveals that the ruling Civic Platform increases its lead over the opposition Law and Justice party by 5 percentage points to receive 44 percent, while Jaroslaw Kaczynski’s group gained 27 percent in the poll.
The Democratic Left Alliance would gain 18 percent of seats, while junior coalition partners the Polish Peasants’ Party would not gain seats in parliament, with only 4 percent support. A similar fate would await splinter group from Law and Justice, Poland Comes First, which gained only 2 percent in the poll.
If parliamentary elections were to be held in May, frequency would amount to 32 percent, with 21 percent of the poll’s respondents stating that they would “definitely not” vote.
The TNS OBOP poll was conducted between 6-10 May on a representative random selection of 978 adult Poles interviewed in person by the pollster’s statisticians.
