Jarosław Kaczyński to meet with “rebels”

12.12.2007

According to the Polish Press Agency, Law and Justice chair Jarosław Kaczyński is to meet with his former deputies Ludwik Dorn, Kazimierz Ujazdowski and Paweł Zalewski on Wednesday afternoon.

At the Law and Justice convention on Saturday, Jarosław Kaczyński said that resolving the cases of the three rebellious party members, whose membership was suspended, will depend on their attitude – whether they will “be open”.

Former Internal Minister Ludwik Dorn, former Culture Minister Kazimierz Ujazdowski and former Chair of the Sejm’s Foreign Relations Commission Paweł Zalewski resigned from their posts as deputy chairmen of Law and Justice at the beginning of November, after they tried to start up a discussion about the way the party is run and wrote an official letter to Jarosław Kaczyński, in the wake of which Kaczyński decided to suspend them.

Party member Przemysław Gosiewski said that the Chair still wants to cooperate with his former deputies, but they will have to fulfill certain conditions, which boil down to finishing with discussing the party’s problems in public. (mo)
