During Wednesday’s session of the Polish Lower House – Sejm – MPs will hold a debate on the draft resolution proposed by Civic Platform (PO) and Peasants’ Party (PSL) to appoint the “Friendly State” extraordinary parliamentary committee.
The role of the new parliamentary body would be to analyse provisions "regulating social and economic issues, in order to identify unclear, incoherent, inefficient, redundant or too regulatory provisions, as well as to prepare necessary amendments to the law".
MPs will also discuss PO’s amendments to the law on the Internal Security and Intelligence Agencies to facilitate combating corruption.
The Lower House will also vote for representatives of the National Council of the Judiciary.
A vote on the appointment of the parliamentary investigative body to look into the suicide of former construction minister Barbara Blida (SLD) is also likely to be held on Wednesday. (mj)
