Former health minister, Professor Zbigniew Religa (Law and Justice) thinks that Civic Platform (PO) is not able to cure the Polish health service in two years, as they claim.
According to him, it will take ten years to see the effects of a major reform.
The former health minister represented his party in the parliamentary debate about the state of Poland’s health service today in parliament.
He stressed that Poland spends the least on health care among European countries, several times less than Germany or Sweden.
According to Religa, the way to overcome the present crisis is to increase the health care premium by 1 percentage point, i.e. to 13%.
According to Religa, Health Minister Ewa Kopacz did not presented any concrete facts concerning the reform of the health care system during the debate. (mo)
