A newspaper has alleged that Law and Justice (PiS) illegally copied and moved top-secret files of the Polish military counterintelligence before the last elections when it was almost certain that the party would not stay in power.
PiS has denied the allegations, made in Gazeta Wyborcza.
On January 29, General Grzegorz Reszka, the new head of the Polish Military Counterintelligence (SKW), notified the prosecution and submitted hundreds of pages of depositions, mainly by counterintelligence officers, against three persons: the former head of SKW archive, her deputy and head of SKW office.
An audit carried out at SKW has revealed that at the end of 2007, top-secret documents, including lists of secret agents and operational information, were copied and moved around.
The illegal action began in September and went on until November 2007 after the election, claims the newspaper. (mj)
