Government for 4 years poll says

19.02.2008

Almost half of Poles (43 percent) believe that Donald Tusk’s government will manage to stay in power for the full term of Parliament, a poll by TNS OBOP pollster reveals.

Still 44 percent of the respondents answered that the government’s term will be shorter.

It is the third month since the new Cabinet took over from the Law and Justice led administration, and the coalition and the ruling parties still enjoy high levels of support.

Dziennik daily writes that these good results are a bonus for harmony within the coalition: there are no major conflicts between the coalition partners and even if there are they don’t get to the media. What is more, so far the Cabinet managed to avoid long-term social conflicts.

Next Friday it will be 100 days since the new government under Donald Tusk took office.

The previous government managed to stay in power for just two years before the coalition collapsed.(jm)
