Kaczynski criticizes government foreign policy

03.03.2008

Former PM, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, said that the Polish government cares only about its relations with stronger partners, which, according to him, weakens Poland's international situation.

The Law and Justice leader expressed concern that, as a consequence of such actions, Poland is loosing its allies, such as the Czech Republic, and Poland's relations with Ukraine, the Caucasian and Baltic states have also suffered a turn for the worse.

Kaczynski said that the relations with stronger countries are asymmetrical, to Poland's disadvantage.

According to him, the Czechs are uneasy about the fact that Poland is prolonging the negotiations on the deployment of the US anti-missile shield in the two countries.

He stressed that he is not sure if Donald's Tusk government really wants the shield in Poland, as, according to him, it would be possible to reach an agreement advantageous for Poland in a short period of time. (mo)
