Poles have right to know President's state of health, says Ombudsman
11.03.2008
Polish ombudsman, Janusz Kochanowski, said Monday that Poles have a right to information about the health of the head of state.
But he stressed making this information public is different from the 'game' that MP Janusz Palikot (Civic Platform) is playing.
Palikot demanded on Saturday on the RMF FM radio information about state of President Lech Kaczynski's health, because, according to him, the President seems to be suffering from some health problems. The politician said that a report about the state of the President's health should be established.
This is the second time that MP Palikot has called for the state of Lech Kaczynski’s health to be made public. In January, the politician caused a stir when he speculated on his blog whether the President has an 'alcohol problem', remarks for which he later apologized. (mo)
