Prime Minister Donald Tusk has denied that there will be a major cabinet reshuffle this summer, but at the same time is leaving his options open.
Retorting to rumours of a major cabinet reshuffle in the Civic Platform/Polish Peasants Party (PSL) coalition thus summer, PM Tusk told journalists: "There isn't a grain of truth in that.”
The Polish Premier, who is currently in Santiago de Chile, said, however, that if any changes will be necessary, there will be "no holy cows", but added that there will be no serious changes in the near future, allowing cabinet ministers to be accurately judged on their performance by August.
A review of ministerial activities is planned for the summer, with ministers coming under scrutiny as well as their respective plans for the next year's budget.
According to the Polish edition of Newsweek, PSL is to give Donald Tusk an offer he can't refuse after his return from Latin America. The party would like to increase its "responsibility in the government", giving a clear hint that PSL would like more seats in the cabinet.
