Polish contingent to Cordoba to confer with Spanish counterparts

Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk is to participate in consultations between the Polish and Spanish governments in Cordoba, Spain.

 

According to government sources in Madrid, PM Tusk and his Spanish opposite, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, will discuss, among others issues, the international economic situation and will share their opinions on the measures that should be taken by the EU to stabilise financial markets in Europe.

 

The politicians are also to discuss the future of the Lisbon Treaty, the issue of illegal immigration along outer borders of the EU.

 

The meeting in Spain will be attended also by a Polish contigent of ministers: Radoslaw Sikorski  of foreign affairs, Elzbieta Bienkowska of regional development, Cezary Grabarczyk of infrastructure, Maciej Nowicki of environment, Marek Sawicki of agriculture as well as the vice-minister of economy, Adam Szejnfeld.

 

This is the fifth such summit between Poland and Spain. (jm)
