Three days of mourning have been declared in Sosnowiec, southern Poland, to mark the memory of the deceased bishop Adam Śmigielski.
No parties will be held in the city until Sunday. A solemn Mass for the bishop will be celebrated by the Czestochowa Metropolitan archbishop Stanisław Nowak tomorrow at 6pm at the local Cathedral. The burial is scheduled for Saturday.
Bishop Adam Śmigielski died on Tuesday following a serious illness. He has been in the office since 1992. This year he would turn 75 years old.
