Last year, near on two thousand guitarists played the rock standard in Wrocław’s Old Market Square. The record-breaking attempt, spearheaded by Polish bluesman Leszek Cichoński within his Thanks Jimi festival brought together an astounding crowd of young and old from all walks of life.
Wrocław is the home city of many Polish guitarists, and quite a few of them are taking part in the event. Also, this year the record-breaking attempt is being joined by a very special guest: the band Deep Purple, whose Steve Morse will be playing with the gathering of artists on the stage, so Smoke on the Water is also on the bill for the record-breakers in Wrocław!
There’s also a live internet transmission on May 1 from the Wrocław Old Market… because of considerable interest from the States.
