President of the Kosciuszko Foundation Alex Storozynski assesses Poland’s role in the dismantling of communism in Central Europe.
 

In an exclusive interview for Polish Radio’s External Service, in the run up to the 20th anniversary of the 1989 elections in Poland, President of the Kosciuszko Foundation Alex Storozynski, recalls his visits to Poland during the communist period and talks about the collapse of the regime.


Alex Storozynski is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, a former member of the New York Daily News editorial board, founding editor of amNewYork and former city editor of the New York Sun. He has also been published in the European edition of The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Post, Newsday and other publications.  He was elected President of the Kosciuszko Foundation last autumn.


His biography of Kosciuszko, The Peasant Prince: Thaddeus Kosciuszko and the Era of Revolution, was published by St. Martin’s Press last month.
